Abortion and Olympics – Why Some Women Choose a Gold Medal Over Their Children
By: Brittany Raymer
The Olympics kicks off this weekend and Americans will be mostly glued to their television sets in order to catch sight of our fellow countrymen hopefully claiming victory in several key events. However, there is a dark side to the pursuit of Olympic gold, and it's preborn babies who pay the price.
Abortion is apparently a common way for women, especially track and field athletes, to continue their competition schedule. According to retired Olympic athlete
[link removed]
Sanya Richards-Ross , "most of the women I knew in my sport have had at least one abortion."
This is what the 2016 Olympic champion Brianna McNeal did in early 2020. In order to compete in the games that summer, which were eventually cancelled, McNeal underwent an abortion. During that time, she also missed a surprise anti-doping appointment. As a result of that missed appointment, and other violations as well, McNeal has now been temporarily banned from competing for the next five years.
So, essentially McNeal's decision to end her pregnancy was pointless. She has lost her firstborn child for a game that never happened in 2020 and will now be unable to defend her title on the international stage.
McNeal tried to keep the situation private, initially explaining to officials that she had a "surprise medical procedure."
"I tried to keep the abortion private, but they just kept tugging and tugging at me, wanting more information," McNeal

said . "I couldn't believe that I was charged with a violation because I had the dates mixed up by just 24 hours. It's not like the procedure didn't happen."
Women are told that they have to choose: personal success or motherhood. But why can't women do both?

University of Iowa Officials Discriminated Against InterVarsity Student Club, Federal Appeals Court Rules
By: Bruce Hausknecht
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently handed down an important

decision in the battle over the religious freedom of student clubs on the nation's public college campuses. It sends a message that government officials – i.e., college administrators – need to hear: you can't treat religious clubs by different rules than you treat other clubs. That's viewpoint discrimination, and if you engage in it – at least in the

states covered by the 8th Circuit – not only will the educational institution be liable, but so will the individual officials involved in the discrimination.
The case involves InterVarsity Graduate Christian Fellowship (InterVarsity), which was deregistered by the University of Iowa as an official student club over its requirement that leaders subscribe to a Christian statement of faith. Loss of official status means losing student fees to help run the club, along with the loss of campus communication channels and meeting space. It severely hinders the ability of a club to attract members and get its message out to other students.

Federal Legalization of Marijuana Gains Steam. Here are the Downsides to Legalization.
By: Zachary Mettler
Three United States Senators have proposed a new bill that would legalize the possession of marijuana nationwide. The draft bill comes as more and more states continue to decriminalize the drug.
The "

Cannabis Administration & Opportunity Act " would remove marijuana from the federal list of controlled substances and empower "states to implement their own cannabis laws."
The draft legislation, sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Finance Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Cory Booker, D-N.J., would establish 21 as the minimum age to buy marijuana, and would stipulate that any retail sale of the drug be limited to 10 ounces.
"The Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act aims to end the decades of harm inflicted on communities of color by removing cannabis from the federal list of controlled substances," the draft proposal states. "Federal cannabis reforms are especially urgent as more and more states legalize the adult and medical use of cannabis."

video revealed her saying "Let them die" in response to a rally by parents who oppose critical race theory.
Michelle Leete worked as the Virginia PTA's vice president of training, but the Virginia PTA

announced in a statement on Saturday that it had requested and received Leete's resignation.
"While not speaking in her role within Virginia PTA, we do not condone the choice of words used during a public event on Thursday, July 15, 2021," the statement said.
This comes just days after Leete gave a speech prior to a Fairfax County school board meeting. At the meeting, the board was scheduled to vote on whether or not transgender-identified students should be allowed to use bathroom and locker room facilities that matched the sex they identify with – rather than those that match their biological reality. The group ultimately voted to require that transgender children should be allowed to use the facility of their choosing and that school staffers be required to address the students by their names and preferred pronouns.
