That’s why, along with Reps. Rosa DeLauro and Doris Matsui, I’m fighting to ensure equal pay for one of our greatest sources of national pride: The US Women’s National Soccer Team. As the women’s national team fights for the gold, they’re still being significantly undercompensated compared to their male counterparts.

And let’s face it, their record proves they’re better at soccer than the men, too!

This injustice must stop, so as they fight for the gold, we’re fighting here at home. Join me in calling for the USWNT to receive the fair compensation they deserve → [[link removed]]

Right now, players on the women’s national team only make 89 cents to the dollar despite them having more titles and wins than the men. This isn’t a new struggle, but this is the moment to end it immediately.

And women of color in America have an even bigger pay disparity, making on average just 52 cents to the man’s dollar.

The lasting effects of pay inequality trickle downward and follow women all throughout their lives, meaning ownership of fewer assets, more debt, and less retirement savings compared to men.

The national outrage for pay inequality for the women’s national team is just the beginning — now it’s time to act and call for an end to pay inequality everywhere.
