Friend,

Whenever I watch the Olympics, I'm in awe of the talent and skill that every athlete brings to the games. But throughout history, women athletes have been paid less than men competing in the same Olympic sports -- and that injustice persists today.

All Americans who represent our country on the world stage should receive equal pay and benefits, regardless of gender. That's why I recently introduced The Equal Pay for Team USA Act of 2021, a bipartisan bill to guarantee equal pay for all athletes competing in the same sport under the American flag.

If you support equal pay for all of our Olympic athletes, will you add your name to urge Congress to pass this bill?

Women work just as hard as men to excel at their sports, and they have the victories to prove it. In 2018, U.S. women's teams brought home more Olympic medals than the men. Our women's soccer team won the World Cup in 2015 and 2019 and is consistently ranked one of the best in the world.

It's clear: Women deserve equal pay for equal work, in sports and beyond. As we cheer on Team USA this weekend, let's renew our commitment to our nation's ideals of fairness and equality.

Join me in advocating for equal pay for all Olympic athletes, regardless of gender.

Thanks for adding your voice next to mine.

Go Team USA!

Maria Cantwell
