I'm standing in solidarity with Congresswoman Joyce Beatty in the fight to protect our right to vote, John.

I'm no stranger to fighting back against anti-American, racist voter restrictions. In 2014, when Governor Tom Corbett tried to pass a voter ID law in Pennsylvania, I organized the community against their efforts, and a judge ruled the law unconstitutional.

In 2021, Republicans have enacted 28 restrictive voting laws across 17 states already. Congresswoman Beatty and I are calling on Congress to forward federal voting rights legislation like the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to protect the right to vote.

If our democracy isn't working for the people -- then it's not really working. Join us in calling on Congress to advance democracy reform to defend the right to vote and root corruption OUT of Washington.

When President Joe Biden addressed the country from the Constitution Center in Philadelphia last week, he said, "The Big Lie is just that: A big lie." But Donald Trump's lie that the 2020 election was stolen has already fueled the flames of one of the largest voter suppression movements in American history.

Republican lawmakers are closing down polling places, purging voter files, enacting racist voter ID laws, and even blocking poll workers from passing out water to voters standing in line. The right to vote is the cornerstone of American democracy. We can't let these injustices go unanswered.
