Republicans are launching even more phony audits to undermine our elections. Texas GOP is now pushing for a partisan and blatantly racist audit targeting 13 counties. The list of counties is alarming:
Ten of the 13 counties backed Biden in 2020.
The average county in this audit is 5 points more Hispanic than the state overall.
The audit includes 4 counties that have some of the highest percentages of Black voters in Texas.

There is no doubt this audit is a sham. It was, after all, State Rep. Steve Toth who introduced the bill for the audit. This is the same person who tried to throw out more than 125,000 ballots cast in a drive-through voting location in Harris County this past November.
From what we’ve seen in other states, these sham audits only create chaos and undermine faith in our elections.
