John -- In a minute, I’m going to ask you to donate $5 to my campaign. But first, I want to let you know a few things about this race:

• I’m a top target for the NRCC, and last cycle Republicans spent over $3 million trying to unseat me.
• Republicans are only 5 seats away from taking back the House. If Republicans regain control of the House, they’ll work hard to reverse the progress our Democratic House Majority has made on issues like climate change and civil rights.
• VA-02 now has a partisan rating of R+1. And I have multiple Republican opponents who will be able to count on the support of dark-money organizations willing to spend millions targeting battleground seats like mine.
