John,
It is not an exaggeration when we say that Republicans are rapidly ramping up their war on a woman's right to choose as they come after Roe v. Wade like never before.
This week, Texas joined ten other states by passing a type of bill known as a “trigger law”, legislation that completely bans abortion should Roe v. Wade be overturned.
With the Supreme Court increasingly likely to strike down Roe v. Wade later this year, we need Congress to take action and protect a women’s right to choose by passing the Women's Health Protection Act, legislation that will codify Roe v. Wade into law.
join DFA as we push Congress to pass the Women's Health Protection Act and ensure women have the right to an abortion nationwide.
It is clear that the outsized power Republicans have over the courts has emboldened the most radical elements of the anti-choice movement.
Over the last few months, across the United States, we have witnessed a wave of anti-choice legislation that takes cruelty against women to new extremes.
In Texas alone, there have been numerous attacks aimed at making abortion completely inaccessible.
The state has passed a bill that prohibits abortions after just six weeks of pregnancy before most women even find out that they are pregnant.
What’s even worse is that to ensure that this law is enforced, Texas will pay $10,000 to someone who turns in and sues any person that helped with the abortion.
These laws are some of the most dramatic attacks on women's reproductive rights that we've seen so far, and they are a direct attempt to tear down Roe vs. Wade.
We must fight back against these growing threats to Roe vs. Wade.
Add your name: Demand Congress pass the Women's Health Protection Act and ensure women have the right to an abortion nationwide.
Together, let’s unite and make sure that women have access to the reproductive care they need.
