Here’s a first look at ISI’s new logo

Our new logo: doubling down on “educating for liberty”

Dear John,

For nearly 70 years, ISI has been educating for liberty.

And this mission has never been more important.

Far too many colleges and universities attack the principles and virtues that have made America free and prosperous.

ISI has always filled the void for talented students who hunger for an education in America’s rich tradition of ordered liberty.

But in the age of wokeness, hollowed-out curricula, and endless attacks on America and the West, we’re no longer simply a supplement to a student’s education . . .

. . . we’re the main course.

ISI has become America’s counter-university—the place for talented students who hunger for wisdom, thoughtful discussion, and a community of lasting influence.

That’s why I’m excited to unveil our new logo, which captures ISI’s position as America’s counter-university.

Someone to whom I recently showed the new logo described it in three words that also apply to ISI itself:

Collegiate. Sincere. Principled.

In the interlocking ISI monogram, the two I’s form a column. That’s not simply a nod to ISI logos of the past. It also represents fortitude and constancy—exactly what we need to fill the void in a higher education system gone mad.

Finally, I hope you’ll come meet some of the outstanding future leaders ISI is educating at our 15th annual Gala for Western Civilization ([link removed]) . The gala will be held Thursday, September 16, in Washington, D.C. That night you’ll hear from Hillsdale College president Larry Arnn, Brown University professor Glenn Loury, and Diana Davis Spencer Foundation executive chairman Diana Davis Spencer.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement for ISI’s mission.

Best,

John A. Burtka IV
President and CEO

P.S. ISI’s new logo is just one of the ways we’re demonstrating our commitment to providing an education based on conversations about enduring principles. You’re invited to be part of those conversations at our 15th annual
