Friend,

This just in: Yet another former Trump official has been indicted for allegations of corrupt and unethical conduct. Yes, yet another Trump crony living by Trump's personal mantra – "If you can get away with it, it's not wrong."

This time it's Thomas Barrack – longtime friend of Donald Trump and head of his presidential inaugural committee – who's been arrested and accused of acting as an unregistered foreign agent, conspiring to influence U.S. government policy on behalf of a foreign country, and lying to federal investigators.

News of Barrack's arrest comes only weeks after the Trump Organization's Chief Financial Officer was indicted on a 15-year-long tax fraud scheme and Rudy Giuliani was stripped of his law license for making demonstrably false statements while leading Trump's 2020 election subversion campaign.

Accountability for Trump officials who broke the law is a breath of fresh air – and a night-and-day contrast with the Justice Department's record under former Attorney General William Barr, who behaved like Trump's personal attorney rather than the advocate for the American people.

But some Republicans – including Donald Trump Jr.– are fiercely criticizing recent moves to hold Trump officials accountable. At this critical moment, we need to make clear that we support efforts to follow the facts wherever they may lead – even if the truth is inconvenient for the Trump family.

Accountability can only be won if grassroots activists like you keep speaking out to defend the rule of law. That's why I'm looking for 800 supporters to stand up for what's right by responding to the following question:

Should Trump officials be held accountable for their wrongdoing?

After the disaster that was the Donald Trump administration – and the devastation of an insurrection at our Capitol – our democratic institutions are still facing many tests. Whether we hold perpetrators accountable will determine whether our democracy is weakened or strengthened.

Thank you for making your voice heard.

Dick
