For far too long, the redistricting process has played out in literal back rooms where everyday Americans have been totally excluded from the process. The goal now is to make people aware of what’s happening -- because if folks knew partisan legislators were subverting our democracy by choosing their own voters, they’d be far more likely to reject them at the polls.
This year, we’ll be calling attention to the redistricting process in a number of key states across the country. And we’ll make it very clear that when Republicans try to manipulate the process to draw themselves into an unearned majority, the NDRC will be investing in efforts to “throw ’em out of office,” as A.G. Holder put it.
But those investments depend entirely on support from people like you, John. We’ve come a long way thanks to this team since the NDRC launched in 2017, and now our mission has never been more urgent.
