Friend, We are losing more Pennsylvanians to unregulated "ghost guns," and we have less than a month to stop it. Help us out-comment the NRA and tell the Justice Department to regulate DIY guns. Submit a comment now. A 19-year-old Philadelphia man lost his life this month during an alleged ghost gun sale.¹ Last month, an Allentown man was shot after allegedly firing a similar gun.² Increasingly the weapon of choice for criminals, ghost guns—guns without serial numbers that can be assembled from kits—can be sold online and at gun shows without background checks, then made into deadly weapons within hours.³ A new Justice Department rule could help stop the uncontrolled spread of these untraceable guns, subjecting them to regulation just like any other firearm.⁴ But the NRA has mobilized waves of supporters to comment against this crucial proposal. With the public comment period ending August 19, the NRA is winning. To save lives, we need to send an unmistakable message to the Biden administration: ghost guns should be treated like any other deadly firearm. |
