Lt. Gov Dan Patrick

Press Conference

I set the record straight on SB 1, the Election Integrity Bill with the author, Senator Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, during a press conference at the Texas Capitol today. You can watch it here.

By choosing to remain in Washington, D.C. rather than report for work here in Texas, Texas House Democrats are holding democracy hostage. They are pushing for a federal takeover, even though 65% of Texans are against federal interference in our elections.

You can always tell which side is losing, and it’s the side who is speaking the loudest. Data leaked by Democrats shows that more minorities voted for Republicans in the last election than ever before. Republicans flipped several counties in South Texas, where Democrats have had a stronghold for over 100 years. The Election Integrity Bill will pass, because people of all colors want to know that their votes are counted in a free and fair election

Just like their trip to D.C., the Democrats’ false statements about our Election Integrity Bill have fallen flat. Here’s the truth: our bill will expand early voting hours, strengthen verification of mail-in ballots, and increase security by ensuring that no election machine is connected to the internet.

Have you read our election integrity bill? I encourage you to read it here.

95% of Texans say it is easy to vote in our state and this bill will make it easier to vote and harder to cheat.

Please continue to keep our state and our nation in your prayers. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
