At the presidential debate tonight, moderators must stop ignoring abortion rights.
The next presidential debate is just a few hours away. Tell the debate moderators to ask about abortion — click here to send a message, or help make some noise on Twitter.
In just a few hours, a dozen Democratic presidential candidates will crowd onto a stage in Westerville, Ohio. They’ll answer questions about impeachment, immigration, and jobs. But if this debate is anything like the last two, there won’t be a single question about abortion.

That’s unacceptable. Access to safe and legal abortion is under attack in this country like never before, and voters deserve to know what the next president plans to do about it. Tell debate moderators Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper, and Marc Lacey to ask about abortion.

Tweet directly at the moderators:
Hey @AndersonCooper @ErinBurnett @MarcLacey, abortion bans are dangerous for people's health. I want to know where Dem candidates stand on abortion access. At the next #DemDebate, #AskAboutAbortion.
.@AndersonCooper @ErinBurnett @MarcLacey, how will candidates protect abortion access if the Supreme Court restricts our rights even more? At the next #DemDebate, ask them about abortion & their plans to protect our rights. #AskAboutAbortion
Hey @AndersonCooper @ErinBurnett @MarcLacey, health care is a top issue for voters — and abortion is health care. But there wasn't a single question asked about abortion or reproductive health care at the last two debates. That needs to change. #DemDebate #AskAboutAbortion
(Not on Twitter? Submit your question for the moderators here to make sure they ask about abortion in the next debate.)

These debates are supposed to provide a window into the candidates’ positions and priorities. How will they undo the damage inflicted on sexual and reproductive health care by the Trump administration? How committed are they to appointing judges who will uphold the abortion protections guaranteed by Roe v. Wade and defend our fundamental rights? How will they protect — and expand — access to safe and legal abortion?

These are the questions the debate moderators need to ask so that voters can make an informed decision. Tell them to #AskAboutAbortion — submit your question here, or use the links above to tweet directly at the debate moderators.

I’ll be tuning in tonight to learn more about the candidates and where they stand. I hope you do, too. And I hope we finally get the answers on abortion access we deserve to hear.
Sincerely,
Alexis McGill Johnson, Acting President
