Words have meaning. Elected officials, and especially members of Congress, have a great responsibility when we communicate with the public.

Yet time and time again, Representatives such as Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert have continued to equate our government’s response to COVID-19 to the Holocaust. This kind of rhetoric is infuriating and it is disgraceful -- not only to me, as a Jewish American, but to the men and women of all stripes who have actively stood up against antisemitism and for racial justice in every corner of this nation.

Look, we’ve come a long way as a country. It’s wholly unacceptable for Members of Congress to diminish the memories of both the victims of the Holocaust and the brave souls who laid down their lives fighting against the Nazis. The divisive and hateful rhetoric if these extremists harkens back to much darker days in our history, and further undermined our Democracy.

Astonishingly, as we gear up for next year’s midterms, dozens of candidates with QAnon-aligned beliefs like Greene are preparing to run for Congress! In response, NewDems are preparing ourselves and doing everything in our power to combat this wave of dangerous extremism. But we need your support.
