Hey there John

This weekend, I'm going to be heading back to Harrisonburg, VA (location of my Alma Mater, James Madison University, Roll Dukes) with a bunch of our fellow activists for a summit and to help stump for our Democratic candidates out in rural Virginia.

Now it's no secret that Democrats are having a hard time in rural VA and they need our help. But what you may not know is that there are a lot of progressive voters and candidates down there as well. Bernie Sanders even won several different areas out in Rural Virginia during the Presidential Primaries ([link removed]) in 2016 and 2020.

So I want to help bring them something as well. Think you could help me out? ([link removed])

Our fellow Virginias out in the Valley, Southside, and Southwest are hurting too. Far travel times to Medical Centers, lack of connectivity due to lack of rural broadband, intrusive pipeline construction, and the loss of jobs have decimated our once thriving Shenandoah Valley and Southwest Virginia. But if we have the right people in office, we can see affordable and accessible healthcare, rural broadband connectivity, mass transit, sustainable agriculture, economic justice, environmental justice, and jobs return to places like Wytheville, Staunton, all the way to Danville.

It's true that when one of us thrives, we all thrive. But the same is true in reverse. If one of us falls back, we all fall back. So that's why I am going down there this weekend to help out, stump for these great candidates, and knock on some doors. They're up against some big competition but I know that we can help out.
