John -- I wanted to personally reach out today. I know my inbox is flooded with end of quarter emails; I’m sure yours is, too. Sometimes it’s easy to forget why we are receiving all these requests for money.
I always go back to the mission. The work we do at Brand New Congress is rooted in getting legislation passed that will help every American live better lives.
To do that, we need to elect unbought representatives. It’s our job to support bold progressive candidates so they get enough votes to win their primaries, and go on to win their elections. Only then will we see the change we are all working so hard for.
It’s really that simple.
There is a direct line from the money we raise to the legislation we are trying to get passed. Which is why I’m writing today.
We operate a volunteer-led organization on a razor-thin budget. Right now, we’re targeted to be short $5600 from hitting our goal of $25,000 for the month. We have candidates facing primaries as early as March, and they need our help to reach voters.
If you’ve gotten this far, I hope you’re convinced that the work we are doing is worth some of what you plan to give.
