John,
Just 24 hours ago, it was announced that the police officer who murdered Atatiana Jefferson in her home while she was babysitting her nephew is being charged with murder.
Make no mistake: police gun violence is still gun violence and that’s why we must demand justice for Atatiana Jefferson.
While we’re relieved that Atatiana’s case won’t be another situation where the police officer is simply placed on administrative leave without any real justice -- it’s heinous that police officers are continuing to murder unarmed black Americans in their homes.
Just last year Botham Jean, an unarmed black man, was murdered in his home by a police officer who mistook his apartment for hers. The police officer was only sentenced to 10 years.
Enough is enough.
We’re standing with the Tarrant County Coalition for Community Oversight and every community across the country that has been ravaged by police gun violence.

In times like these, we need to let the local community groups know that we have their back -- they’re not alone in this fight. But in order to do that, we all need to stand strong together.
Can we count on you to stand with us?
In solidarity,
Britt
