Welcome to the summer edition of the WFN newsletter. This space is to highlight the great work of the network, provide meaningful content, and centralize the most pressing issues in the our sector. The newsletter will return in the fall to kick off the Women Funded 2021 Conference!

Call for Sessions: Two Opportunities 
 
We’re thrilled to announce two open submission opportunities to participate in WFN's virtual conference, Women Funded 2021. This gathering is open to the broader philanthropic and movement community as well as WFN membership, and we welcome session ideas from organizations and individuals committed to our shared work.

Live Session: We welcome your submissions for session ideas, including roundtable discussions on a piece of your work, a panel conversation, interactive workshop, research presentation, and more. Submit your concept to be part of Women Funded 2021. Apply by July 28, 2021.

Virtual “Site Visit”: Bring the conference to your part of the world. A virtual conference provides the unique opportunity to explore the many regions that WFN community represents. Take conference attendees on a tour of your work, or highlight your region and the people you work with and serve. To indicate your interest in participating in a Virtual Site Visit, please complete this form by July 28, 2021.

Report Alert: The Women's Fund of Minnesota released the first in a series of nine Listening Session reports that illustrate the experiences, challenges, and opportunities women and girls across Minnesota see to create sustainable solutions. Participants discussed the impacts of COVID-19, racial injustice, economic inequities, incarceration, and additional crises on women, girls, and families, while sharing the innovation, resilience, and vision that point the way to transformational change.

OPPORTUNITIES AND RESOURCES

Join the Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity (PRE) and ABFE - A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities for their emergency funder briefing, "The Dangers of Ignoring the Disinformation Campaign Against Critical Race Theory." Participants will learn directly from some of the leading voices and organizations battling this current attack on racial equity & racial justice on national, state & local levels.

RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, is hosting a fireside chat with their Founder and President, Scott Berkowitz and Ann Mukherjee, Chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard North America. Scott and Ann will discuss how companies can take an active role in shaping the narrative around sexual violence. 

The event will premiere on RAINN's YouTube on 7/28 at 11:00 am PT.
The Wallace Foundation is launching a five-year, $53 million initiative focused on arts organizations of color.​ Aimed at fostering equitable improvements in the arts, the initiative begins with this guiding question:
 
Facing strategic challenges, how do arts organizations of color leverage their experience and community orientation to sustain their relevance and increase their resilience?

To encourage as many organizations as possible to apply, Wallace has launched an open call for applications. The deadline is August 13, 2021.
