This summer is officially the Summer of SALT.
Ever since I first entered Congress, I’ve been fighting to lift the harmful SALT deduction cap that’s taken money out of New Jersey families’ pockets and made it harder to invest in our communities.
Now, I’m working to raise awareness about how the SALT cap hurts middle-class families and to increase momentum behind my efforts in Congress to repeal the cap. And I need your help.
Today, I’m setting a goal to gather 10,000 signatures from grassroots supporters in support of lifting the $10,000 SALT deduction cap. Will you be one of them?
Before Donald Trump’s 2017 tax bill, there wasn’t a cap on the SALT deduction. Nearly half of New Jerseyans claimed it on their returns. And it wasn’t just for millionaires -- far from it.
When the SALT deduction cap was instituted, it took money out of families’ pockets -- money for medical emergencies and children’s educations. And it impacted everyone from firefighters and health care workers to teachers and seniors.
Something has to change, and I’m trying to make that change happen in Congress, but I can’t do it without your engagement. Add your name and be one of 10,000 grassroots supporters calling for an end to the SALT deduction cap.
Thank you for your support,
Mikie
