California State Budget Officially Signed

Last week, Governor Gavin Newsom officially signed the 2021-22 state budget, which includes billions of dollars in investments in programs to address homelessness and increase affordable housing throughout the state, as well as a one-time allocation of $20 million in funding for the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA). Out of Reach 2021 Report Released

The National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) recently released its annual report, Out of Reach 2021: The High Cost of Housing. The Out of Reach report affirmed what Bay Area residents and Californians already know; our region and state are struggling with severely high housing costs and it’s absolutely critical we take action.

Our Executive Director, Amie Fishman, shared NPH's perspective on the report and the Bay Area Counties' status as the least affordable counties in the nation. "This is not the identity we should be holding," she told The San Francisco Chronicle. This Brown Bag will focus on efforts NPH members are conducting to define Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) best practices and models while accounting for different target populations and project size with the goal of determining true costs.
