Dear NRDC Activist,
We've never been so close to upending the fossil fuel industry's
hundred-year domination of our public wildlands and coastal waters.
President Biden's Interior Secretary, Deb Haaland, has announced a
top-to-bottom review of her agency's fossil fuel program — a program that
has handed over millions of acres of priceless wildlands and ocean waters
to the oil, gas, and coal industries, and has taken a devastating toll on
our environment, our climate, and Indigenous communities for more than a
century.
But Secretary Haaland is facing fierce resistance from powerful polluter
lobbyists determined to keep the status quo. Thankfully, with thousands of
supporters like you by our side, NRDC is fighting hard to support the
administration's push to end the exploitation and destruction of our
public lands and tackle climate change.
And right now, they could really use your help,
.
[ [link removed] ]I hope you'll make a tax-deductible donation so that NRDC can keep
battling — in and out of court — to save our last wild places and our
planet's climate. Every dollar you give will be matched, up to $250,000,
in support of this all-important work.
Even $5 can make a big
difference.
Secretary Haaland has long been a powerful advocate for climate and
conservation. No doubt, that's why politicians tied to fossil fuel
interests have cynically attacked her as "radical."
But if it's radical to believe that oil and gas giants shouldn't be
allowed to plunder our last wild places with impunity — or put the fate of
our planet's climate before the profits of a few corporations — then NRDC
members like you and I, and the vast majority of people living in the U.S.
are surely radical, too.
Now is the time to act on climate change and at this historic moment, with
so much at stake, we can't back down even for a second.
NRDC has what it takes to end decades of fossil fuel domination and stop
the federal government's outrageous giveaway of our lands and oceans to
the fossil fuel industry.
[ [link removed] ]So I
hope you'll show your support by making a donation to NRDC today. All
gifts will be matched by a generous supporter, and NRDC will put it to
work upending the fossil fuel industry's grip on our wildlands and ocean
waters and defending our environment. Even just $5 can
make a big impact.
Thank you for your commitment to NRDC and our shared environmental future.
Sincerely,
