It’s hard to know where to begin.

Gavin Newsom is up for re-election next year, but Republicans know they can’t win a general election in California since their policies are so backward and unpopular. Instead, they are wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayers' dollars on a sham recall campaign.

One of their leading candidates is celebrity and television personality, Caitlyn Jenner, whose campaign is being led by Donald Trump’s former campaign manager. Seriously.

Oh, and she just paused her campaign, even as voting is about to begin, to film Celebrity Big Brother in Australia. Seriously. Again.

Meanwhile, national Republicans and some of Trump’s largest donors are pouring millions of dollars into the state trying to pummel Gavin Newsom ahead of ballots dropping.

They hate that Gavin Newsom has put science and public health first during COVID – unlike Donald Trump – and that’s exactly why Trump Republicans are going after him.

The GOP will use a victory as a springboard to energize, organize and mobilize anti-vax, pro-Trump extremists against everything Democrats are trying to accomplish around the country.

That’s the absolute last thing California or the rest of America needs as we finally get COVID under control and get back on track.
