John --
The good news: Last week thousands of care workers took action across the U.S. as the Senate Majority Leader announced a $3.5 trillion budget to advance and deliver on President Biden's economic proposal -- a proposal which pledged billions to invest in care to lift care workers, family caregivers, and home and community-based services.
The bad news: It’s still very uncertain whether Congress will include this bold investment in our care infrastructure in the final budget package -- and the fate of care workers for years to come depends on these next few weeks.
That's why I'm asking YOU, one of our most active supporters, to call your Senators today at 1-855-674-8044 and ask them to support the $400 billion investment in care as part of our nation's economic recovery.

To rebuild our economy and our families, we need to start by supporting our country’s caregivers. Not only will investment in care infrastructure provide new job opportunities, but it will also allow women, who are often tasked to take care of their families, to return to the workforce.
We’re optimistic that we can create an economy that works for everyone, and we need Congress to continue making bold investments in the essential care workforce.
With a congressional commitment to a substantial investment in home and community-based services (HCBS) infrastructure, we can elevate and improve the lives of domestic workers and caregivers who make it possible for all of us to receive quality, dignified care in our homes and communities, and ensure millions of family caregivers have the opportunity to return to the workforce.
It’s time to seize this once-in-a-generation opportunity to center care -- the thing we all need to live with dignity -- as a public good and collective responsibility.

Thanks for all you do,
Care Team

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
