Friend,
I love food, and I spend a lot of time thinking about it. Not just what I'm going to eat for lunch - but also about how the food my family buys and cooks impacts people and our planet. I think about the 821 million people - that's 1 in 9 of us - who go to bed hungry each night. This, despite the fact that globally we produce enough food to ensure everyone has enough nourishing food to eat. In fact, one-third of all food produced goes to waste.
Friend, I bet you think a lot about how your food choices impact the world too. But it can be hard to know where to start, and which choices can make a lasting difference.
That's why, in celebration of World Food Day tomorrow, we've come up with some tangible things you can do now. Read on below >>
Friend, I'm so grateful for your support in the fight to end hunger and poverty - injustices that are the products of an unequal distribution of resources and wealth. As global hunger and inequality are increasing, it's more vital than ever that we fight for justice and dignity for all.
Onwards,
Fatema Z. Sumar
Vice President of Global Programs
Oxfam America

Tell Whole Foods to end human suffering behind its food
What's really behind the food you buy at Whole Foods and other supermarkets? The abuse of workers in the food industry is happening everywhere-including US sweet potato farms that supply Whole Foods.
