It’s past time that we recognize once and for all that housing is a human right and invest our resources accordingly. Everyone deserves a home that is affordable, safe, accessible, and located near employment opportunities. Period.
If you agree, you can make your stance heard loud and clear with our new ‘Housing is a Human Right’ t-shirt designed by artist Lo Harris. As always, proceeds help fund our free tutoring program, food programs, and local organizing in our community.

As part of our artist collaboration series, this shirt is designed by Lo Harris, a Brooklyn-based illustrator and animator who champions vibrance, confidence, and joy. Through the use of bright colors and strong figures she creates celebratory work that promotes visions of a more just and kind world.
We need to deal with the deepening housing crisis in America because:
- More than 17 million households are spending more than half of their income on housing.
- There are currently no states in the country where a full-time worker earning the federal minimum wage can afford a modest two-bedroom apartment.1
- Residents of public housing routinely suffer worse health outcomes due to mold infestations, lead contamination, poor indoor air quality, and unsafe temperatures.
Shop our newest ‘Housing is a human right’ t-shirt and support our movement to boldly reimagine our country’s housing system and protect occupants, repair public housing, and build new affordable housing.
Pa’lante,
Team AOC
