ICYMI: Texas Democrats are doing the work.

Last week, they took a strong stand against the GOP and this governor’s extremism by physically leaving the Capitol and refusing to allow them a quorum.

It’s a brave but necessary action, because this special session is absurd. The Governor and his party failed to pass some of the most dangerous restrictions to our voting rights we’ve ever seen during the normal legislative session, so they’ve come back to try it again, changing some of the rules in the process.

The representatives we worked so hard to reelect aren’t having it, team, and even in the face of threats of detention and arrest, they’re fighting for us.

This is why this work is so important. We have to elect leaders who will fight for our values in the State House, especially in the face of such extremism from the GOP.

Here at Battleground Texas, we have a long-term organizing strategy that’s singularly focused on electing more leaders that are doing just that, but we need your support. Will you chip in whatever you can before the midterm season kicks into high gear?

Over the last few years, our organization has added over 200,000 voters to the rolls, a feat that’s even more important in light of this new legislation that limits access to the ballot box.
