A wave of extremist candidates are trying to take Congress in 2022

A newly published report by Media Matters found that over 30 QAnon-supporting candidates intend to run for Congress in 2022 :

Some of the candidates are diehard QAnon fans, while others signal their support for the conspiracy subtly. Either way, these numbers prove that QAnon and far-right extremists have transformed into a strong political force in the U.S. — and we need to keep them from gaining control of Congress.

On the list of QAnon supporters intending to run for reelection are Rep. Lauren Boebert and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who both helped bring the conspiracy theory into the mainstream.

Over the past few weeks, the behavior of these two Republican Members has escalated to dangerous levels, with both comparing America’s push to vaccinate our citizens against COVID-19 to Nazis and the Holocaust.

The rhetoric of QAnon-aligned extremists is a threat to our democracy, and we need to do everything in our power to stop them from gaining seats in the House.
