Earlier this month, Matt Rosendale voted against a resolution to remove all Confederate statues from Congressional grounds. He said the impetus to remove the statues was driven by critical race theory.
Or, maybe it was driven by the fact that these men committed treason against the United States to maintain their ownership of human beings. People like that should not be memorialized in the building of a government they sought to destroy.
Those who seceded from the United States fought and lost the war to continue enslaving human beings deserve no place of honor in our Capitol building. America triumphed over a hateful ideology once, and we can do it again.
