Gov. McMaster failed us in South Carolina’s most pressing time of need during the pandemic. Now, he’s failing us again by botching our pandemic recovery. Make a contribution to help send him packing and elect a governor who has the courage to lead for ALL South Carolinians.
Friends,
When faced with the biggest public health crisis of our generation, Governor McMaster is clearly NOT up to the task of leading.
First: He politicized mask mandates and ignored public health orders when our communities were most vulnerable — resulting in South Carolina reporting the 10th highest rate of COVID-19 cases in the entire country.
Then: When he had the opportunity to help South Carolinians get fully vaccinated so that stronger strains like the Delta variant won’t wreak havoc on our state like COVID-19 has, Gov. McMaster let us down again. South Carolina currently ranks among the lowest vaccinated states — causing our case rates and deaths to increase, as predicted.
Now: With an unprecedented amount of federal relief funds at his disposal, Gov. McMaster is sending money back to Washington instead of helping SC families who are struggling to pay rent and put food on the table, as well as countless small businesses that are struggling to survive. His total disregard for the people of SC also leaves low-income, rural communities hit hardest by the pandemic on their own to recover as he continues to play political games with South Carolina’s pandemic relief money.
During South Carolina’s greatest time of need, and now amidst our critical recovery, Governor McMaster is failing us.
