[1]Cori Bush

John,

Thank you to everyone who completed our Summer 2021 Priorities Survey.
Your thoughtful responses will help guide Cori as she introduces new
legislation, and we couldn't be more grateful.

[ [link removed] ]In a moment, we're going to humbly ask you to chip in $5
or more so Cori can continue legislating and organizing for bold,
progressive change. But first, we want to share the survey results with
you. Here are the top priorities of our progressive movement:

Addressing the climate crisis with a Green New Deal
Environmental justice is one of Cori's top legislative priorities. That's
why she introduced the Green New Deal for Cities alongside Representative
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to fund an expansive array of climate jobs and
projects including wind power procurement, clean water infrastructure, and
air quality monitoring.

Abolishing the filibuster
Cori knows we cannot pass the bold legislation we need unless we abolish
the Senate filibuster. Currently, legislation, including the For the
People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, hinge on
ending this antiquated, racist procedural tool. So Cori delivered a letter
to the Senate signed by nearly 100 House Democrats demanding an end to the
Jim Crow filibuster.

Passing Medicare for All
Cori is a proud co-sponsor of Medicare for All because her story is like
that of too many Americans. As a registered nurse, Cori saw her patients
die because of the inability to afford treatment. And while running for
office and being uninsured, Cori was in and out of the emergency room with
COVID-19 leaving her with a hefty hospital bill.

Reading through these responses reminds us why Cori's leadership is so
important. Every day, Cori brings her experiences and her St. Louis
community with her to Congress. She's not fighting for this legislation
because it's the politically smart thing to do — she's leading because she
knows what it's like to be a working mom struggling under the weights of
environmental racism, medical debt, and police violence.

Your answers make it clear: This team is done with incrementalism and
ready for the big, transformative change this moment requires. This team
has given Cori a mandate for justice, and Cori is ready to fight for the
issues that matter most to people like you,
John.

We're proud of the work Cori and this team have already done to address
these issues — but we know that there's a lot more organizing ahead of us.

ALL of us and centers the challenges working families have faced for too
long?

Team Cori
