John,

The last time Washington Republicans held a majority in the House, they passed the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act," which gave huge tax breaks to mega-corporations and the top 1%.

Who paid the price for that loss of tax revenue? Homeowners and working people.

The law put a $10,000 cap on state and local tax (SALT) deductions -- a change that disproportionately affected blue states like New York.

The fallout has been damning. New Yorkers, especially right here in Suffolk County, have seen their already high cost of living increase significantly because of this SALT cap. If you live in New York and own a home, you've probably experienced the squeeze yourself.

John, I'm for people paying their fair share of taxes, but unlike Lee Zeldin, I won't sit back and let Long Islanders get screwed. So, will you join me and sign our petition urging Congress to repeal the SALT cap?

Many of us are paying high state and local taxes because we value safe neighborhoods and strong education -- we want our communities to thrive.

The cap throws salt into the wounds of every working Long Islander who believes that our region's quality of life, great public schools and safe streets are worth the investment.

With Democrats in power, we need to deliver for hard-working families and homeowners, not just in New York but nationwide.

Congress must secure much-needed tax relief by repealing the SALT cap. Will you sign our petition and urge our leaders to take corporations' tax burden off of families' backs?
