John,
SEEC PAC members know that we need more resources for environmental policies now. That’s why our members pushed to include key pro-climate measures in the Invest Act — the surface transportation bill passed by the House last week.
We secured multiple SEEC PAC priorities in the bill:
*
Requirements
to
include
pollution
reduction
and
resilience
in
transportation
planning.
*
A
new
greenhouse
gas
performance
measure
and
measures
to
hold
states
accountable
for
greenhouse
gas
reductions.
*
Increased
investment
in
transit,
pedestrian
and
bike
pathways,
with
a
focus
on
historically
excluded
communities.
*
Increased
funding
for
clean
water
and
lead
replacement
services.
These policies are crucial victories, but they’re only the tip of the iceberg for what our country needs. We’re working hard to make sure that not only are these measures passed into law, but that more expansive policies are included in the future. We’re fighting in Congress everyday for policies that will save our planet, but we need your help. Can you pitch in today so we can continue our fight on behalf of the environment? [[link removed]]

All too often we think of infrastructure as just roads and bridges. But the infrastructure packages currently under consideration by Congress are huge opportunities to invest in the future of this country by including environmental measures that set us up for long-term success.
This is an important victory that will influence the infrastructure package that’ll ultimately pass in Congress, but we are fighting an uphill battle that requires a groundswell of support to win. Will you join our movement by chipping to our cause? [[link removed]]
