All across the country, our bridges are crumbling — literally. Our roads aren’t up to standard, and the climate crisis is only making it worse. And after catastrophic floods and bridge collapses, it’s clear that we can no longer wait to act.
It’s well past time that we address our fractured infrastructure, and it starts by making an investment in our communities.
It was clear in February when Texans lost power after a snowstorm that we needed updated power grids that can withstand extreme weather. It was clear years ago when dams collapsed in Iowa that our water infrastructure needed to be updated.
And after the pandemic highlighted the disparities in internet access across our country, it was clear that we needed to bring broadband access to underserved communities.
We cannot wait for the next disaster to bring attention to the need for infrastructure updates. Congress must pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill and bring our country up to speed. But we need to show Congress that this bill has the support of the people.
