“Texas Is the Hardest State to Vote In. It Could Soon Get Much Harder.”
-- Mother Jones |
John, can you chip in $18 to our voter registration efforts in Texas?
The Lone Star State intentionally makes it hard for folks to vote -- especially Latinx folks.
- (A) There’s no online voter registration.
- (B) The process to register voters is incredibly complex and time consuming.
- (C) And now Texas Republicans are trying (again) to jam a restrictive voter suppression bill through the State Legislature.
Here’s what we’re doing in response:
- Suing the state over SB 1111, a new law that’s intended to discourage voters by threatening penalties over minor address discrepancies.
- DOUBLING DOWN on our voter registration campaign in Texas.
Remember: In 2020, we registered a grand total of 263,581 Texans -- a full 15% of all new voters in the state.
Help us do it again in 2022.
