When it comes to making progress in Congress, two things can be simultaneously true:
* We can be proud of making history by being within inches of a bipartisan infrastructure package to invest in roads, bridges, transit, and rural broadband. It's proof that bipartisan progress is possible when leaders listen (to their constituents and to one another).
* We can agree that the bipartisan package doesn't go nearly far enough to tackle the climate crisis and invest in human infrastructure like child care.
Progress on our first truth must not delay progress on the second. So I'm thrilled that President Biden's proposed budget includes bold investments to tackle the climate crisis.
I'm calling on my fellow members of Congress to support our bipartisan infrastructure package and the bold climate plans included in the Biden budget. Will you add your voice to mine right now?

This summer, tens of millions of Americans have experienced temperatures well above 100 degrees. The need for climate action could hardly be clearer, or more urgent.
But Big Oil has been using their deep pockets to corrupt our political system for decades, supporting lawmakers who would block legislation that would curb carbon emissions. Now, we need to call out (and weed out) their influence and accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy.
We have so much to gain from investing in clear energy, from leaving our children and grandchildren a healthy, sustainable planet, to creating new jobs in a sector that's full of promise.
So I hope you'll continue to make your voice heard on this. Add your name right now to call on Congress to make this a summer of action on climate.
