Five years ago this week, our Liberal team introduced the Canada Child Benefit as part of our pledge to lift 300,000 kids out of poverty – helping more kids across Canada than could fit into several of our country’s largest stadiums.


And today, after 5 years of important progress, more than 400,000 children have been lifted out of poverty in Canada thanks to the Canada Child Benefit.

9 out of 10 parents now have more money in their pockets to help with the cost of raising children. That’s about 1.6 million young families with more money for things like school supplies, nutritious meals, and after-school activities – whether in person or virtually.


And it’s support from Canadians like you that makes all of our important progress possible. Your support is helping us continue building a better Canada, making life more affordable, and making a real difference in the lives of Canadian families.


The CCB has made a crucial impact for so many Canadian families, meaning that more parents are supported and more kids get the opportunities they deserve.
