There’s only 17 days left until Congress heads home for recess—that’s 17 days to pass voting rights legislation to protect our democracy.

This is a make or break moment. We can’t afford for Congress to fail to act. That’s why we’re calling on Congress to put aside the filibuster and pass the For the People Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Act, or cancel recess to get the job done.

Texas Democrats are out of time. They came to Washington to ask for help defending Texans’ voting rights and Congress has so far failed to act.

Democratic leadership has called the wave of voter suppression bills “the greatest threat to democracy since the Civil War." If that’s true, are they really going to let an antiquated Senate rule like the filibuster stand in the way?

Enough is enough. We can’t let Republicans weaponize Trump’s Big Lie to attack voting rights in state after state. It’s time Congress pass legislation to protect voting rights in Texas, Arizona, Florida, and everywhere else that it’s under threat.
