Hi Friend,
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff are working every day to stop the spread of COVID-19 around the world. Our teams are in hotspots including Brazil, India, and Peru providing lifesaving care where fragile health systems have been pushed to the brink by the pandemic and vaccine access is extremely limited.
But MSF teams know firsthand that our efforts to fight the pandemic are not enough — we need the United States to mobilize mass vaccination efforts by sharing resources globally, freely, and quickly.
The Biden administration plans to share a small portion of America’s COVID-19 vaccine surplus and purchase 500 million doses for distribution globally—and MSF applauds this effort—but it is not enough to meet the urgency of this moment as new waves and variants of COVID-19 take hold. We need to do more, and we need to move fast.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
