The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster of devastating news about the state of our earth’s climate and hopeful progress towards creating a more equitable society.

Honestly, I know it’s hard to keep track when things move so quickly. But I think we can take away two truths from the recent barrage of news:

First, we need to keep fighting for climate justice in all its forms harder than ever. With parts of New York City literally under water, we can’t wait. That’s why I was proud to join with Sen. Ed Markey and other colleagues in the House to introduce a bill that would support adding chargers for electric medium- and heavy- duty vehicles to our infrastructure.

Second, we know all the things that progressives have been fighting for have begun to make real progress. From the Child Tax Credit checks dropping in bank accounts that just started to making inroads on racial equity in access to digital tools, we’re just getting started.

But I can’t keep fighting for Brooklyn unless I win the upcoming 2022 elections. Please, friend, can I count on you to chip in $15 so I can keep my seat at the table and not erase all the progress we’ve made?
