Last week, Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki sent Americans a chilling message: if you’re not falling in line, you will be silenced. This message came in a show of overt collusion by big tech and the Biden Administration, as she announced that the Biden Administration is pressuring Facebook to censor speech the government considers to be “misinformation.” She then called on any spreaders of “misinformation” to be removed from all platforms.
If that wasn’t terrifying enough, this morning, The Daily Wire received a personal reminder of how tenuous our free speech rights are.
The hit piece came from NPR, a news organization whose existence depends on your tax dollars. They accused us of spreading misinformation and manufacturing outrage for clicks. Of course, not only is NPR using hyperbolic lies to accuse us of spreading hyperbolic lies, but their new smear campaign insults the intelligence of everyday Americans and their ability to think for themselves. It’s a blatant attempt to centralize the flow of information and weed out anything that might challenge the Left and inspire critical thinking.
The article even concedes that content published by The Daily Wire “[doesn’t] normally include falsehoods.” But, according to them, as a conservative news organization, our articles can’t possibly contain the truth.
They’re not mincing words. This quote says it all: “If you’ve stripped enough context away, any piece of truth can be a piece of misinformation.” It’s all eerily reminiscent of the party slogans from Orwell’s 1984: “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength.” The “truth” is now “misinformation,” depending on whose mouth it leaves.
It’s clear that the Democrats and establishment media are threatened by us at The Daily Wire, which is why they’re pressuring Facebook to suppress our reach. They’re threatened because Americans are waking up to the fact that establishment media are not as “unbiased” as they claim to be. They’ve worked hard for years to suppress any facts that don’t fall in line with the far Left narrative. Americans have the right to choose where we consume information — and we’re speaking up. Viewers are leaving these networks in droves and turning to nontraditional media sources like The Daily Wire to find honest news from an openly biased perspective.
That’s why we can’t give up. The threat has landed at our doorstep, and we’re calling on all conservatives to help us fight back.
