John,
We all know that the future of our movement depends on how hard we fight for it. That’s why when we see establishment politicians like Joe Manchin go to a fundraiser in Texas hosted by GOP donors in the oil and the gas industry — hours after he met with Texas Democrats in D.C. about the For The People Act — we can’t help but feel frustrated.
Oceans are on fire, public infrastructure is melting, and homes are being flooded all across the country. But establishment Democrats continue to associate with and take contributions from oil and gas corporations — all while compromising on bold, progressive legislation for the sake of “bipartisanship”.
But we know that this continued obstruction of social and economic progress doesn’t serve the American people, Republican or Democrat. It serves the interests of corporations, billionaires, and the outrageously wealthy.
John, unlike politicians like Joe Manchin, Jamaal is going to continue calling out all those who refuse to do the right thing for our future. He’s dedicated to building his time and priorities in Congress around legislating to save our democracy and work towards a future where we can all thrive — but he can’t do it alone.
Voices like ours — and leaders like Jamaal — are needed in Washington, now more than ever. Will you please add your name in support of Jamaal’s progressive leadership in Congress?

Manchin may uphold our current political system, but the system is much bigger than him. We must continue to reject the status quo and fight for our democracy at any cost.
In solidarity,
