It’s been a long year and we’ve missed seeing you all in-person! Before the general election season gets underway, come join us for our AYD Homecoming BBQ on Saturday, July 24th starting at 6pm. Location will be the rooftop of Crystal House, 2000 S Eads St, Arlington, VA. We hope to see old friends, current friends, and new ones as we welcome back AYD alumni, current members, and anyone that wants to join!
Tickets are $50 (over 35), $30 for Young Dems (35 & under), and FREE for dues paying members (and dues are ONLY $25 for the whole year). What to expect?
Food: It's a cookout! Burgers, hot dogs, and sides/desserts. *If you have any dietary restrictions, please email AYD Membership Director Annie Styles at [email protected]*
Drink: Open bar of beer, hard seltzer, and wine as well as an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages. Please feel free to bring your preferred beverages. You will not be asked to share with the class, but no glass, please!
Activities: We'll be keeping cool, catching up, playing corn hole and board games from an extensive library, having fun in a photo-booth corner with Polaroid cameras, and making friends— that's what we do, after all.

This marks the fourth annual Arlington Democrat and AYD Interfaith Eid Al-Adha Celebration!
We’ll be gathering various faith community members and local residents to share a halal meal of traditional Eid cuisine from a local caterer, exchanging messages about the meaning of Eid (crossing the Abrahamic faiths of Islam, Christianity and Judaism), supporting those in need through AFAC food donations, and participating in games and entertainment. The event will be held outside in the Bluemont Picnic Pavilion on Sunday, July 25th at 1:30 pm.

Crystal City Metro Station Second Entrance Through Friday, July 23: The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is looking for feedback on a concept plan for a new east entrance for the Crystal City Metro station. The entrance would be located at the northwest corner of Crystal Drive and 18th Street South. Learn more and provide your written feedback online through July 23.
MWCOG Regional Housing Equity Plan Meeting Series Throughout July: The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) is coordinating community engagement for a Regional Housing Equity Plan. The plan, also known as the Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice, helps direct federal funds in ways to make housing more equitable and accessible to individuals and families no matter where they live or where they would like to live.
