John,
Bumping up this breaking news update we sent earlier because reproductive freedom and justice groups have been working against both the Hyde and the Weldon Amendment for years.
And last week two House Subcommittees moved this work forward by voting on two different bills to end harmful abortion bans.
We want to get 1600 signatures on our petition to underscore its broad support, and it looks like we need one in every six people reading this email to hit that goal.
John, if you believe it’s time to end abortion coverage bans, add your name here.
Thanks for standing with us to demand everyone can access critical abortion care,

John,
Breaking news: Yesterday, two House Subcommittees voted on two different bills to end harmful abortion bans!
Both the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) and the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS) Subcommittees are stepping up to protect reproductive freedom and healthcare services.
John, if you agree that it's time to end abortion coverage bans, add your name to our petition to help us send a message that everyone should be able to access critical abortion care.
The LHHS bill would end the Hyde Amendment — which bans federal funding for abortion, leaving folks on government healthcare plans like Medicaid left without abortion care coverage — and it would end the Weldon Amendment — an amendment that allows healthcare providers to discriminate against patients seeking abortion services.
Reproductive freedom and justice groups have been working against both the Hyde and the Weldon Amendment for years.
The CJS bill would end a ban that blocks incarcerated patients in federal prisons from accessing abortion care, and it will invest in the Title X family planning program, the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, and more.
Stand with us if you agree that where you're from shouldn't determine if you can access essential health care services like abortion care, add your name to our petition here.
Make no mistake: the progress we’re seeing today is due to the tireless work of reproductive justice groups like All* Above All and SisterSong, and it’s from the organizing of front-line reproductive healthcare workers who continue to show up in the face of unprecedented attacks. That’s why we only endorse prochoice candidates who champion not just the codification of Roe v. Wade, but also racial justice and accessible healthcare for everyone.
It's time to end the racist and sexist Hyde Amendment and give abortion access to all, regardless of who you are, where you are, or how much you earn.
Thank you for standing with us,
Sara Tabatabaie
