Greetings John,
The Boundary Waters, with miles of streams that weave their way through over a million acres of Wilderness rich with wildlife, pristine boreal forests, and lakes clean enough to drink directly from, is cherished by millions.
Former Vice President, Minnesotan, and my friend, Walter Mondale understood the importance of this special place and fought fervently to protect Minnesota’s Boundary Waters from toxic mining. The late Vice President saw the Boundary Waters as an integral part of Minnesota’s identity and economic prosperity. His legacy represents a vision worth defending.
The Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters released a new video highlighting Mondale’s legacy and the need for all of us to pick up where he left off and work toward permanent protection for this special place. Watch below and take action. Join me today in urging the Biden administration to carry on former Vice President Walter Mondale's legacy to protect the Boundary Waters. It’s our responsibility to carry Mondale’s torch. Unfortunately, the proposed sulfide-ore copper mine project on the doorstep of the Boundary Waters directly threatens the former Vice President’s legacy.
Take action today. Ask the Biden administration to carry on Mondale’s legacy and act to protect the Boundary Waters. “Are we generous enough, secure enough, mature enough to refuse short-term gain in order to avert long-term calamity? Our childrens’ legacy depends on the answer.” - Walter Mondale, Former Vice President For the Wilderness, Becky Rom National Campaign Chair Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters
