Dear John, did you see our note last week?
We are so proud to support FairVote MN as we work to pass Ranked Choice Voting in Minnesota.
In this historic year, FairVote MN is working to reach voters in five cities -- more cities than ever before in our state -- conducting RCV elections this fall; we must educate them and encourage them to rank their vote. In order to fuel this voter education and advance RCV statewide, we MUST meet our fundraising goal by midnight tonight.
There couldn’t be a more important time to step up to save our democracy. Thank you for standing with us as we do this important work.
-Karla & Peter Dear John,
2021 is an historic year for Ranked Choice Voting in Minnesota.
Never before have we had five Minnesota cities – representing 16% of Minnesota voters – conducting RCV elections at the same time! As New York recently demonstrated, voter education and outreach is crucial to implementing a successful ranked-choice election. Despite opponents' claims that RCV is confusing, polling showed that NYC voters overwhelmingly found it easy to understand, and turnout was at its highest level in decades. The NYC education campaign was critical to this success. FairVote Minnesota MUST reach voters in all five cities, educate them and encourage them to rank their vote. Early voting begins September 17.
We, along with other dedicated supporters, are offering a $45,000 match challenge between now and July 19 (we’ve extended the deadline through the busy Pride Festival weekend) to help fuel this voter education and advance RCV statewide. We just have $15,000 to go!
Maximize your donation by giving whatever you can today - we will match every dollar you donate! Your donation will help to:
While you may receive emails from other organizations asking for donations, know that any contribution to FairVote MN is money well-spent. We have the utmost faith in the FairVote MN Team, and their excellent work is advancing a reform that has so much potential to transform our state for the better
Thank you for your support of this organization and strengthening democracy in our home state.
Sincerely,
Karla Ekdahl and Peter Hutchinson |
