[1]Bowman for Congress

Hi John, I'm
Jesse, Jamaal's Finance Director.

I've been going through our fundraising numbers this week after we wrapped
up our mid-month fundraising campaign — and I noticed that you haven't yet
made a donation* to our campaign this month.

One of my responsibilities as the Finance Director for Team Bowman is to
help you understand why giving to and investing in our movement is so
important, so allow me to further explain below.

[ [link removed] ]But before I get into it, I have to ask: will you chip in today and
support Jamaal and our movement? If you're able, know that any amount —
even amounts of $5 or less, which make up 51% of our total donations this
month — makes a huge difference.

John, we
could especially use your support right now because our campaign is now
getting into more involved work for our next election in 2022 — the first
of which is less than a year away at this point in time.

The good news is that our team is bigger and stronger than ever, and this
isn't our first election cycle. But the less-good news is that unlike last
election year, our opponents understand what our movement is capable of,
and they're going to come after us full-force.

In 2020 — when Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida
Tlaib had their first re-elections — many folks questioned whether or not
they'd be able to win again. All three faced challenges from Republican
and political establishment insurgents who raised millions of dollars and
unleashed attack ads.

And while all three managed to win re-election, the fact still remains:
88% of congressional races are won by the candidate who raises more money.
So the number-one thing our team needs right now as we look towards 2022
is a strong financial base, and we need as many folks as possible to come
together to make that happen.

Having a strong financial base will allow us to plan ahead as we figure
out how much to invest into sources like digital ads, organizing, and
voter outreach — all while growing our base of supporters, hold our seat,
and make sure Jamaal can continue to legislate for our future in Congress.

Now, I'm not expecting everyone who reads this email to chip in.
But John, I'm hoping that you
can step up today and be one of the folks who does — and at the very
least, I hope this email gave you some context as to why it's so important
to continue showing up for our movement.

[ [link removed] ]With that being said, can I count on you to chip in $5 — or any amount
that's meaningful to you — and help keep up our momentum as we prepare for
all the fights (and elections) ahead?

Thanks,

Jesse Guy-Herman, Finance Director
Bowman for Congress
