John,
Critical race theory considers how America’s history of racism
impacts today’s society. It’s important not to ignore our past,
but Marjorie Taylor Greene recently said that the concept is
“completely evil” and should be outlawed. She even claimed that
any teachers found teaching it should be fired “on the spot”.
The American Federation of Teachers, one of the
largest teachers unions, has announced support for educators that
have been punished for accurately teaching our nation’s history
to students. Because of the union supporting it’s members, Greene
called the organization a “communist teacher’s union” and said it
should be disbanded.
This
kind of willing ignorance of our history and determination to
fire hardworking teachers to do their job will only grow stronger
if Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene take control of the
House next year. Will you pitch in today so we can keep the House
and fight back against Greene’s crusade against teachers?

Greene’s comments are only one part of a culture
war that Republicans have begun against critical race theory
while twisting what it means. This is just another example of the
GOP attempting to distract Americans from their unpopular stances
on other issues.
They
don’t want to talk about the massive economic stimulus package
and the payments that went directly into folks pockets, they
don’t want to talk about child tax credit expansion payments, and
they don’t want to talk about a desperately needed infrastructure
package. That’s because despite all of those policies being
widely popular with Americans, they opposed both of them.
If Republicans take control of Congress, they will
stop working for you and will start focusing on extremist
right-wing talking points. Will you contribute to our cause so we
can keep fighting for working Americans?
