Friend,
I have some fantastic news! The Biden administration just announced that it will fully restore environmental protections for the over 9 million acres of untouched wildlands in the Tongass National Forest, reversing a Trump era directive that put the forest in jeopardy. Not only that, Forest Service plans to ban all future large-scale timber sales across all 17 million acres of the Tongass.
This decision will help protect one of the largest remaining temperate forests on the planet, as well as jobs and tourism that depend on it. Now, Congress needs to take the next step and secure permanent protections for roadless areas of our national forests once and for all. I've been advocating for years to preserve our forests, and now I need your support to keep up this important work.
Will you chip in today to keep up this momentum in the fight to protect our national forests?

Trump's executive actions can (thankfully!) be reversed, but that means President Biden's can be as well. We have the opportunity to write permanent protections into law for nearly 60 million acres of America's last remaining wild forestlands. The momentum is on our side, but we have to keep up the pressure to make sure this stays a priority.
Make a contribution today to fund the fight to protect our national forests.
Thank you,
Maria Cantwell
