Dear John,
For early childhood policy advocates, the recent Texas legislative session was a success in many ways.
We helped pass full-day pre-k funding, legislation to improve nutrition and physical play in child care, a bill to study and shine a light on child-teacher ratios in child care, additional funding for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), and more.
While we celebrate these victories, I think we all recognize that there is still much more work left to do.
In a new blog post, I've teamed up with our Early Childhood Policy Associate, David Feigen, to offer a few thoughts about where we stand and where we're heading on early childhood policy in Texas.

We hope this is a helpful snapshot of a few of the issues that we need to tackle together. We look forward to working with you to continue to build out the evolving early childhood agenda and to implement as many of these policy recommendations as possible.
Sincerely,
