Dear Twin Ports DSA Members and Associates,
Our monthly chapter meeting is next week at 4 pm. Some people are becoming frustrated with zoom. You are not alone. Almost all of us are. Our meeting space at the Central Hillside Community Center, however, is still unavailable for the next month or two. If anyone has a great space we could use outdoors that might work (if it has rain protection) otherwise we are best off waiting.
Use this link to register for the meeting, and I will let you know if anything changes.
Our Racial Justice Working Group meets every week. Currently they are deciding on a new meeting time, possible Wednesday at 5:30. Email Lydia at [email protected] to get involved.
Our Labor Engagement Group meets every other Monday at 7 pm. Email David Clanaugh at [email protected] to join us!
Our steering committee met yesterday and we discussed how to better support our endorsed candidates. We decided to pick at least one day a week to promote chapter participation with the door knocks. These are competitive races and we can make a difference. Stay tuned for our first day. Meanwhile, you can always support Azrin Awal here and Mike Mayou here.
Finally, next week at our monthly meeting we have one more city council screening. Ashlie Castaldo will be joining us after introductions and the treasurer's report. I will send out her written answers to members in another email this week.
In solidarity,
John Krumm
TPDSA Secretary
(If you have been receiving these emails and aren't a member yet, we want you to join! Our goals are both broad and local, and we intend to win as many as possible. Simply put--the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, green housing for all, a justice system that helps instead of harms, an end to poverty, socialists in office--these goals and more will not happen without mass participation. Use this link to join or renew.)
